How about the classification of soft ferrite core materials?
Soft ferrite is also called oxide magnetic material, which is a composite oxide composed of iron and other metal elements. The soft ferrite core adopts ceramic technology and is sintered at high temperature to make parts of various shapes. In fact, all the magnetic phenomena that occur in metallic magnetic materials can also be observed in ferrites, but there are two basic differences: one is that the saturation magnetization of ferrite is much lower than that of metallic magnetic materials. It is one-half to one-fifth of metal materials; second, the resistivity of ferrite is more than one million times higher than that of metal magnets. Because of this difference, metal magnetic materials are generally used for low-frequency (under 1000 Hz) and high-power magnetic cores, and soft ferrite materials are used for higher frequency (above 1000 Hz) magnetic cores.
Today we will talk about the classification of soft ferrite core materials:
According to the characteristics and uses of soft ferrite, ferrite can be divided into five categories: permanent magnet, soft magnet, moment magnet, gyromagnetic and piezoelectric magnet;
Classified by chemical composition, soft ferrite cores can be divided into three main categories: MnZn series, NiZn series and MgZn series.
MnZn series ferrites have high initial permeability and high saturation magnetic induction. MnZn series ferrites are widely used in switching power supply transformers, flyback transformers, broadband transformers, pulse transformers, anti-electromagnetic wave interference filter inductors and chokes. Flow ring, etc., is a material with the largest output in soft ferrite.
NiZn ferrites use frequencies from 100kHz to 100MHz, and the maximum can be used up to 300MHz. This kind of material has low permeability and high resistivity, generally 105~107Ω;cm. Therefore, the high frequency eddy current loss is small, and it is the material with the best magnetic properties in the high frequency band above 1MHz.
MgZn ferrites are also used in some high-frequency inductance coils and antenna coils.
